Bornea fights Rosales for WBO Asia Pacific Youth title By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 04 Jul 2015 GENERAL Santos City -- Former World Boxing Federation (WBF) International flyweight champion Jake Bornea of General Santos City fights Bohol?s knockout artist Richard Rosales for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific Youth flyweight title on July 11 at the Robinsons Mall of Gensan. Bornea, 20, of the Amoy Boxing Stable has a record of 9 wins with 4 knockouts against only one loss and no draw while Rosales is toting a record of also 9 wins with 4 KOs but with 2 loses and 2 draws. The 21-year old Rosales previously stopped Michael Rodriguez by a technical knockout in the 8th round last January 25 in Getafe, Bohol. Bornea had also earlier beaten Rodriguez but only by a split decision during their title-fight for the vacant WBF International flyweight crown last January 14, 2014 at the Oval Plaza in Gensan. In his last fight, the 5-foot-2 Bornea defeated Rogen Flores by a unanimous decision last March 28 in their rematch held in Zamboanga del Sur. Bornea?s only loss was from the hands of Raymund Tabugan via a UD for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight title last May 24, 2014 at the Lagao gym in Gensan. The Bornea-Rosales tenner is the main event of the ?Ang Laban ng Heneral? boxing card to be presented by the Amoy Boxing Promotion in cooperation with Ran-Ran Boxing Stable and G-Pro Boxing Team. It is sponsored by Cong. Manny Pacquiao and Vice Gov. Jinkee Pacquiao of Sarangani Proince, Mayor Ronnel Rivera, Family Country Hotel and Blow by Blow TV Channel. Pitted in the main supporting bout is the championship fight for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super bantamweight crown between Jelbith Gomera of G-Pro Boxing Team of Gensan and journeyman Prell Tupaz of Tiger City Boxing Gym-Manila. Gomera is still undefeated with 8 wins, 5 KOs and no draw while Tupaz also has 8 wins but with 27 defeats and 5 draws. ?Also featured in the undercard are 6 pro bouts and 7 amateur pairs from Gensan and Bansalan,? said Brian Golingan of G-Pro Boxing Team.
