Pacman Meets ?Jesus? in Mel Gibson?s 2004 Movie

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES ? The man who portrayed Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson?s 2004 film ?The Passion of the Christ? visited world eight-division boxing champion and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao at the Wild Card Boxing Gym on Maundy Thursday here.

However, due to restrictions imposed by coach Freddie Roach inside the gym while his prized ward was on training, Hollywood actor James Patrick ?Jim? Caviezel decided to go to a nearby Thai restaurant to while away while waiting fro Pacquiao.

Caviezel turned down request for interview but he admitted to his friends that he?s a big Pacquiao fan not only because of the latter?s boxing prowess but more so because of the Pinoy boxing icon?s calm demeanor, humility and strong faith in God.

Pacquiao thanked Caviezel, first for visiting him, and, second for patiently waiting for him to finish his training.

?He has an amazing persona not just as an actor but also as a human being. I was touched because he really waited for me at the Thai restaurant,? Pacquiao said.

The Fighter of the Decade invited Caviezel and his colleagues to a sumptuous dinner before heading back home.

But before parting ways, the boxer-lawmaker informed his wife, Sarangani Vice Governor Jinkee, about his meeting with the amiable Hollywood actor at the Thai restaurant.

The vice governor told the Pinoy boxing superstar to invite Caviezel to drop in to meet her and their children.

Caviezel obliged, to the delight of Pacquiao?s children.

A starstruck Princess, the third in a brood of five, bellowed ?Oh, really? He?s a Hollywood actor??

After exchanging pleasantries and an almost never-ending photo sessions, Caviezel shared to the Pacquiao couple his touching experience while portraying the role of Jesus Christ in the movie.

During the filming, he was reportedly struck by lightning, accidentally scourged, dislocated his shoulder and suffered from pneumonia and hypothermia.

Caviezel has starred in about 28 films since 1991 until now.

BuddyTV ranked him no. 92 on its list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011". Since 2011, Caviezel played the lead role in the CBS drama series ?Person of Interest, which has received the highest rating in the past 15 years for a series pilot and has consistently garnered over 10 million weekly viewers.
