Fight fans will get a chance to size up the two grandsons of the late great Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde when Viva Sports presents highlights of their featured bouts at the 15th Annual ?Flash? Elorde Awards and Banquet of Champions at the historic Manila Hotel last March 25 on ?The Main Event.?

The top rated weekly boxing show is telecast at 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays on Pinoy Box Office (PBO), nationwide over Sky Cable with a replay at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.

WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Juan Martin ?Bai? Elorde, who is a southpaw like his grandfather and even uses the nickname ?Bai? retained his title with a workmanlike performance against resilient Japanese challenger Hirotsugu Yamamoto while younger brother bJuan Miguel ?Bossman? Elorde faced rugged Thai Tor Buamas and prevailed in a ten round bout ro capture the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title.

Also on the show will be a recap of the tremendously successful and exciting ?Pinoy Pride 30 ? D Day? card at the famed Araneta Coliseum which drew a crowd of over 8,000 including a galaxy of celebrities including PBA superstars James Yap and Marc Pingris of Purefoods, former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, coliseum owner ?Nene? It turned out to be a night if knockouts which added to the thrills of the local fight fans.

Donnie Nietes retained his WBO light flyweight title with ba 9th rounhd stoppage of Mexico?s Gilberto Parra who had a record of 17 knockouts in 19 wins with two losses while five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Hernandez who hurt his right hand and was unable to continue.
