After leading by 19 points in the third quarter, the Bulls fell to the Detroit Pistons, 107-91, at the Palace of Auburn Hills. When Pau Gasol made a 21-foot-jumper with 6:58 left in the third quarter, the Bulls moved ahead 72-53 and looked headed for an easy victory against a struggling Pistons team have lost eight of their last 10 games. But Detroit went on a 27-7 run to take a slim 80-79 advantage after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, the usually resilient Chicago Bulls couldn't stop the rampaging Pistons, who outscored them 27-12. Reggie Jackson led six Pistons who scored in double figures with 22 points and 11 assists. Caron Butler dropped 20 and Ketavious Caldwell-Pope added 15. Andre Drummond joined the fray with 14 points and nine boards while Jodie Meeks and Spencer Dinwiddle had 12 and 10 points, respectively. "That was just a tremendous victory, and it only happened because we got contributions from so many players. Everyone who played tonight played a big part in that win, "Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy was quoted by the Associated Press. Gasol was the main man for Chicago with 27 points and 10 rebounds while aaron Brooks finished with 19 and five asissts. But after a strong showing in the first and early second quarter, the Bulls turned cold and ended up making only 33 of 77 field goals (42.9 percent). Meanwhile, the Pistons lit up the field with 44 made shots out of 90 attempts (48.9 percent), including 11 of 26 from 3-point country. The loss dropped the Bulls back to fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 42-29 record. The Pistons, on the other hand, improved to 25-44, boosting their slim playoffs hopes.
