WBC PRESIDENT SULAIMAN SAYS HIS VISIT TO PACQUIAO WAS VERY SPECIAL
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 10 Mar 2015

World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman who visited WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr in his Las Vegas Gym last Friday and then dropped by the home of WBO champion Manny Pacquiao in Los Angeles on Saturday said the visit to Pacquiao was ?very special to me.?
Sulaiman in a telephone conversation with the New Standard/Viva Sports from Mexico said they spent time talking about his esteemed late father and former WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman during whose time Pacquiao won his first WBC title, the flyweight crown with a spectacular 8th round knockout of Thailand?s Chatchai Sasakul in December 1998 and later won the super featherweight, lightweight and light middleweight titles of the world?s leading pro boxing organization.
Sulaiman said Pacquiao had a long history with the WBC and will face the undefeated pound for pound No.1 Mayweather for his WBC 147 pound title.
Sulaiman told us he believes the Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown ?is gonna be a great fight, one for eternity.?
He said the winner ?will become the ultimate champion? even as he pointed out that ?there is so much at stake.?
He said both Pacquiao and Mayweather are great boxers and the result will depend on ?who can impose his style.?
Sulaiman said Pacquiao has ?speed, power and comes in from all angles? while Mayweather also has ?speed and skill.?
Philboxing.com reported that Sulaiman presented Pacquiao with several souvenir items including caps, t shirts, jackets, miniature belts, logos and patches of the WBC and that Pacquiao in turn appreciated their kindness and thanked Sulaiman for taking time out from his busy schedule to visit him and added, ?the WBC was part of my life and career.?
