PACQUIAO-MAYWEATHER ON THE DECK AS MANNY LEAVES FOR LA, LONDON AND MIAMI

PhilBoxing.com

The possibility of the much-awaited Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. mega fight will finally shape up within the next few days when the Filipino boxing hero flies to the United States Wednesday on his way to London.

The 36-year-old Congressman from Sarangani Province will be staying in Los Angeles for four days, the initial stop of his three-city sojourn, the last of which will be in Miami to act as one of the judges in the Miss Universe beauty pageant scheduled on January 25.

He will be having a dinner hosted by Prince Harry of Wales while in London where he might also meet with the Prince?s mother, British Queen Elizabeth.

While in L.A., Pacquiao will be meeting with promoter Bob Arum to discuss with the Top Rank CEO how far negotiations for what could be the biggest and richest fight in the history of prizefighting have gone.

?I cannot yet say anything with finality as far as the proposed fight is concerned. What I can only say is anuman ang mangyari sa mga susunod na araw, sisiguruhin kong magiging maganda ito para sa boksing at sa fans,? Pacquiao told this writer in a brief interview Sunday night at his posh residence in Makati City?s millionaires' row in Forbes Park.

?Hintayin na lang natin kung anong mangyayari. Ilang araw na lang naman,? he retorted in between moves while playing chess, the sport he is now engaged in almost nightly until the wee hours of the morning.

?Baka kasi ma-preempt at mabulilyaso na naman,? he added in reference to previous talks that started five years ago but aborted in as many times it started.

From the California entertainment city, Pacquiao and wife, Sarangani Vice Gov. Jinkee, who celebrated her birthday last Monday, will proceed to London to honor an invitation from Prince Harry for a dinner on January 22.

The ?Fighter of the Decade? awardee of the Boxing Writers Association of America said there is a possibility of meeting, too, The Queen, while he and his wife are in the British capital.

?Excited akong maka-meet ang Queen. It will be one experience I can never forget for as long as I live. Just like when I met U.S. President Barack Obama several years ago,? Pacquiao blurted out.

From London, the world famous couple proceeds to Miami for the 63rd Miss Universe pageant where the eight-division champ was chosen as one of the judges from among the world famous sports, entertainment and media celebrities.

As a pageant judge, Pacquiao will be in the distinguished company of television host and shoe designer Kristin Cavallari, TV and film actor William Levy, who was previously named People En Espanol?s ?Sexiest Man Alive,? Lisa Vanderpump, star of the show ?Vanderpump Rules? and fashion journalist Louise Roe.

The 63rd annual beauty contest will feature 88 contestants from across the globe, including Filipina Mary Jean Lastimosa. The three-hour show will be distributed to approximately 190 countries and territories.
