SOLIS PREDICTS EXPLOSIVE BATTLE WITH PACQUIAO

Undefeated but unknown Jorge Solis predicts that his battle with Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao at the Alamadome in San Antonio, Texas, Sunday (Manila Time) “is gonna be an explosive fight” in which he promised to do his best.
Solis made the comments in a post weigh-in interview with Chino Trinidad who will cover the fight along with veteran boxing manager and broadcaster Hermie Rivera for GMA 7 which is telecasting the Solar Sports boxing special beginning at 10:10 a.m.
However, quite unexpectedly, Solis who is a featherweight and regularly fights under 126 pounds failed to make the 130 pound limit on his first two tries.
Trinidad reported that despite removing his jewelry and stripping down, the lanky Solis weighed 130.5 pounds in his first try and after some thirty minutes returned but was still over the limit at 130.25. After working out for another 20 minutes the Mexican finally made the weight limit.
Pacquiao said “its easy to reduce. It should not affect him.”
Pacquiao, on the other hand had no problems at all, coming in at 128 ? pounds on his first trip to the scales. According to Trinidad, Pacquiao who had apparently fasted for 30 hours in order to make the weight comfortably, began eating backstage after the weigh in where he looked a little pale but his color soon came back.
