Manila, Philippines---Top seed Armenian GM Levon Aronian (Elo 2803) outwitted Filipino GM Wesley So (2719) to keep the lead after the sixth round of the super-tough Category A 76th Tata Steel Tournament Masters in Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam on Saturday. Aronian, boyfriend of Fil-Australian WIM Arianne Bo Caoili, prevailed after 36 moves of English counter King's Fianchetto skirmish, improving his total score to 5.0 points, full point ahead over GM Anish Giri of the Netherlands (2737) and GM Sergey Karjakin of Russia (2756), both tallied 4.0 points apiece. Giri split the point with GM Boris Gelfand of Israel (2777) after 66 moves of Gruenfeld Defense while Karjakin toppled GM Arkadij Naiditsch of Germany (2737) after 76 moves of Barcza System. With the loss, So remains at 3.5 points, the same output of GM Leinier Dominguez of Cuba (2754) and GM Fabiano Caruana of Italy (2782) of Italy. Dominguez drew with GM Hikaru Nakamura of the USA (2786) after 42 moves of Ruy Lopez Berlin while Caruana halved the point with GM Pentala Harikrishna of India (2708) after 132 moves of Ruy Lopez Moeller Defense. Harikrishna and Nakamura were tied at 7th to 8th places with 3.0 points followed by GM Loek Van Wely of the Netherlands (2678) and GM Richard Rapport (2691) of Hungrary who totes 2.0 points each after drawing their games in 64 moves of King's Indian Classical.
