PACQUIAO: WE NEED TO RESPECT PNOY?S DECISION ON PORK By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 27 Aug 2013 ![]() Sarangani congressman Manny Pacquiao has said that whatever decision President Benigno Aquino III makes on the issue of the pork barrel and the wholesale corruption that has been unearthed and stirred the people in calling for its abolition, must he respected. In an interview with the Manila Standard and ABS-CBN?s Dyan Castillejo on the eve of the million people march at the Luneta, Pacquiao said "Whatever the decision of the President is we need to respect his decision. He is the authority.? At the same time Pacquiao said he believes the President ?will do what?s best not for himself but for our country and our people.? The second-term congressman who won uncontested in his re-election bid said ?If he decides to abolish the pork barrel that's good for us but if he decides to keep it, he will be held responsible.? Pacquiao who spoke to the Standard and ABS-CBN after attending the 11th anniversary celebration of the ?River of God? church at Crowne Plaza in Ortigas said ?What I am doing is praying for our nation and praying for the President that God will guide him to make a good decision." On the question of his alleged bankruptcy which was apparently fueled by a report that he was selling his Los Angeles home for $2.7 million, the eight division world boxing champion said he wants to buy a gated home in Beverley Hills noting that there is no such security in the home he wants to sell and that some things have been stolen from it. Pacquiao indicated that some people were speaking out of turn without knowing the real facts and indicated he doesn?t pay attention to them, adding ?let them be.?
