ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said ?This show will serve as a vehicle for these young fighters to make a name for themselves and if they are found deserving, to be featured in the ?Pinoy Pride? Series. We want to sustain quality boxing events here in the country and showcase rising prospects through IDOL while Pinoy Pride goes international.? The youthful Aldeguer announced that ?Pinoy Pride? which is staged in partnership with the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN will be in Dubai and is now gearing up for a U.S. tour and the setting up of a training center in San Diego, California. Aldeguer noted ?We have some of the best boxing talents in the world but the problem is how to nurture them.? The initial presentation of ?Idol? will feature undefeated 23 year old super flyweight Melvin Gumban who has a record of 14-0 with 6 knockouts against Indonesia?s 22 year old John Bajawa with a record of 11-4 with 6 knockouts in a ten round bout.
