Hot Prospect Bruno Escalante returns to the ring September 28 at the Cache Creek Casino Resort PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 Aug 2013  Escalante. August 15, 2013 - Super Flyweight prospect Bruno Escalante (9-1-1, 5KOs) is looking to return to action following his victory over Manuel Galaviz back on July 26th. The 24 year old Philippine native will be competing Saturday, September 28th in an 8 round affair against Joseph Rios (13-8-2, 4KOs) in the co-main event of a card being held at the Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, California. Rios, who resides in Texas, will have to travel to hostile territory in order to compete in front of a packed house in Escalante's home state of California. Although Escalante is originally from the Philippines, he enjoys a healthy fan base in the state he now resides and that fan base will completely occupy the venue's capacity. "It's a great feeling when you have a building full of your supporters and they're cheering you on, it can really make a positive impact in your performance. I'm excited to be the co-main event and everyone keeps sending me their best regards and telling me they can't wait to see me in action. I want to really give them a show and even though I'm the co-feature, I will be giving a main event type performance. "Becoming a headliner is one of my goals in boxing. I think I'm a lot closer to reaching that goal and that's why every performance is so important because each one puts me one step closer," Escalante said. Escalante is preparing to step in the ring for the 4th time this year, but it will be his 3rd fight in 4 months and the activity level has allowed him to stay in the best shape of his life. "I'm happy to be back in action and I never like to take too much time off. I know my body and if I need time to recover then I won't hesitate to take it, but right now I feel great, better than great. Come fight night, I'll put on the kind of performance that proves just how eager I am to move up the ladder," Escalante said. "The venue is happy that so many people are coming to watch Bruno fight," said manager Herb Stone. "Tickets are going fast so I suggest everyone get theirs soon, before the venue sells out. Bruno is quickly becoming one of the rising stars in the super-flyweight division. I don't see Bruno slowing down and I plan to keep him busy throughout the rest of this year.
