DARCHINYAN REMATCH APPEARS OUT AS DONAIRE WANTS TO FIGHT AT 126
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Jul 2013

Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is not keen on a rematch with Vic Darchinyan because he is currently walking around at over 140 pounds and to come down to 122 would hurt him.

Donaire told the Manila Standard that his manager Cameron Dunkin informed him his return bout in late October or early November following his stunning loss to former two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigodeaux last April 13 in New York, would be against Darchinyan who was knocked out in the 5th round by Donaire on July 7, 2007 in an IBF/IBO flyweight title

However, Donaire told Dunkin ?I got to see what my weight is because I?m over 140 pounds right now and I have two months to get down to 122. If I can?t I will move up to 126.

The 2012 ?Fighter of the Year? and former Ring Magazine pound-for-pound No, 5 said ?When I cut down weight I may be strong but I?m fragile and everything hurts.?

The four division world champion with a record of 31-2 with 20 knockouts told us he hopes to win a title at 126 and then move up and fulfill his ambition of winning the junior lightweight title like one of his idols, the Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde and added with a chuckle ?probably more.?

Donaire also indicated he will most likely train for his next fight at trainer Robert Garcia?s gym in Oxnard instead of his usual training venue which is the Undisputed Gym in San Carlos, California.
