PINOY PRIDE XX: PAGARA AND HERRERA MAKE WEIGHT

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY – WBO International light welterweight titlist Jason “El Niño” Pagara (30-2, 19KO’s) of the ALA Gym and Mexican challenger Aaron “La Hoya” Herrera (25-1, 17 KO’s) easily made the division limit during the official weigh-in held Friday noon at the SM Events Center.

Pagara stepped on the scales at 139 lbs while Herrera weighed in at 139 ½ lbs. This will be Pagara's second defense of the belt he won last August 2012 when he stopped Rosbel Montoya in six rounds in their grudge rematch.

Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca (37-6-3, 21 KO’s) put his weight problems behind him and weighed exactly 140 lbs. He will fight for the vacant WBO Oriental lt.welterweight title and a world ranking against Mexico’s Jose Emilio Perea (29-2, 20KO’s), who stepped on the scales one pound over the limit and had to shed the extra weight for about an hour before the fight was given the green light by WBO VP for Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncillo.

Undefeated Genesis “Azukal” Servania (19-0, 7 KO’s) weighed in at 122 lbs while Isaac Junior of Indonesia (20-3-2, 8 KO’s) was at 124 lbs and was requested to shed a pound for their ten round non-title contest.

Former amateur standout Jessel Magsayo of the ALA Gym is set for his pro debut when he weighed in at 126 lbs while his opponent, Melton Sandal of Zamboanga del Norte, was at 124 lbs. They will engage in a four rounder.

Also set to see action are Ralph Lulu (123 lbs) vs Junnie Salogaol (120 lbs) - 8 rounds, Roland Servania (113 ¾ lbs) vs Andrew Palas (113 lbs) - 4 rounds, Elmo Traya (131 lbs) vs Jonie Villacrusis (129 lbs) - 4 rounds, Richard Barrios (105 lbs) vs Lauro Balweg (107 lbs) - 4 rounds and Kazuma Ejiri of Japan (116 lbs) vs Jonas Sultan (114 ½ lbs) -4 rounds. The weigh-in was supervised by the officials of GAB-Cebu.

Fight time for PINOY PRIDE 20: LABAN KUNG LABAN will be on Saturday 6 PM at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
