FARE?AS TO CONTINUE TRAINING IN THE U.S.
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Promoter and former two division world champion Gerry Pe?alosa wants his prot?g?, Michael Fare?as, to continue his training stint at the Wild Card gym in L.A.
?He can have a big fight anytime so he needs to continue training at the Wild Card,? This was Pe?alosa?s reply to the query as to whether Fare?as will get another world title shot this year.
Fare?as beat his Mexican opponent Gerardo ?El Torito? Zayas by first round TKO in a fight held last weekend at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas in Austin. The 28 year old southpaw from the Pe?alosa Boxing Gym dropped Zayas three times before the fight was stopped. Fare?as scored his 35th win, 27 by KO with 4 losses and 4 draws while Zayas dropped to 19W-22L-2D, 11 KO?s.
The March 2013 rankings of the WBA has Fare?as at number 12. He had a technical draw against WBA 130 lb division champion Takashi Uchiyama last year and lost a unanimous decision to interim champ Yuriorkis Gamboa. His other options are IBF champion Argenis Mendez, WBO champion Roman Martinez and recently crowned WBC champ Takashi Miura.
