ALA PROMOTIONS INSIST NO MORE FIGHTS FOR ?BOOM BOOM? BAUTISTA By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 22 Apr 2013 ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer and his respected father Tony Aldeguer have insisted ?there is nothing more? for Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista in the ring but a whole new future is before him including a possible role in the promotional company or in the ALA Gym. Michael Aldeguer told the Manila Standard he is ?adamant? that Bautista retire pointing out that after his loss to Mexico?s Jose Ramirez in Davao City last Saturday who was ?not even a top ten fighter? it showed that wear and tear have taken their toll on Bautista and ?there?s nothing and he might get hurt? if he continues to fight which is something ALA Promotions won?t dare risk. Aldeguer pointed out that Bautista who is now married and has a new born child ?really has no reason to go on? since they had ?made sure he is secure now? with two houses, four cars, sizable savings and some businesses. Aldeguer paid tribute to Bautista as ?one of the most entertaining and charismatic fighters? in the country who always sought to please the fans with his style and ?earned their respect.? The ALA Promotions president said Bautista ?gave his all and never had a dull fight. He may not be the best and has his limitations but is among the most entertaining fighters ever.? He said ALA Promotions wants to do what is right and to have him be with his family even as he emphasized ?there are so many fighters waiting to be showcased? including the undefeated Genesis Servania and Arthur Villanueva among others. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum who saw a tape of Servania thought he was "fantastic" and plans to include him in his July 27 fight card at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Macau headlined by the WBO/WBA mandatory title shot of undefeated Milan Melindo against Juan Francisco Estrada who won the title with an upset win over Brian Viloria.
