NBA -- Don't count out Derrick Rose yet
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Wed, 10 Apr 2013

CHICAGO -- Nearly a year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, former league MVP Derrick Rose has resume playing for the Chicago Bulls lineup. And with six games left in the regular season schedule, the assumption is that Rose will sit out the remainder of this season and get ready for the next.
But as the Bulls continue to battle for a higher Eastern Conference seed in the coming playoffs, Rose is leaving the door open for a return.
"I'm keeping it open," the 24-year old point guard told ESPN Chicago in response to the notion that he is shutting down for the season. He also reiterated that rehab is his focus right now and said "I'm just trying to get better. I'm just trying to help my teammates, give them confidence to go out there and play hard, and be just be a great teammate."
After the injury last April 28, Rose had surgery on May 12. He has since been medically cleared to play but the 6-foot-3, 190-pound All-Star is still dealing with the psychological aspect of his recovery.
"I'll play whenever I'm ready to play. Who knows when I'm ready to? Right now all I can do is just cheer on my teammates."
With a 42-34 won-lost slate, the Bulls currently in 5th place in the East, two games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the No.4 spot and homecourt advantage in the opening round of the playoffs which opens on April 20. (Homer D. Sayson)
