NBA - Robinson's double-double lifts Bulls over Wolves By Alex Gardunio PhilBoxing.com Mon, 25 Mar 2013 Robinson. CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls appeared poised and determined against the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday night, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, scoring a 104-97 victory despite playing without Joakim Noah (plantar fasciitis) for a second straight game. Without Noah tearing up the paint the Bulls still remained the aggressors winning the rebound battle 52-32 as Kevin Love (right hand surgery) continues to recover. Marco Bellinelli also took a seat with an abdominal strain and Derrick Rose continued to nurse his knee giving speculation the he may not return at all this season. Chicago's offense wasn't anything to bat an eyelash at as they shot a shade over 46% while Minnesota ended the night shooting exactly 50%, but that is where the Bulls flourished! They took it to the Wolves in the post which made all the difference on the night. Down low, Nazr Mohammed and Taj Gibson pounded the glass all night as they neutralized Nikola Pekovic on the block and snagged a combined 21 rebounds with nine of those coming on the offensive end. Carlos Boozer had yet another consistent night with 12 rebounds and 19 points on 9-15 shooting but added five turnovers while Jimmy Butler came close to adding his own double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. After being ejected last night for taking down Pacers guard Lance Stephenson in a Chicago win, Nate Robinson was well rested and energetic giving the Bulls a huge spark off the bench. When Minnesota trimmed a 16 point deficit to 90-85, Luol Deng hit Nate for an open 3-pointer at the top of the arc that snapped the back of the net and sent Bulls fans roaring as he pumped his fist. ''I'm an energy guy off the bench, just get guys fired up and I think I do a pretty good job of that,'' Robinson said. Nate finished with 22 points and 10 assists. Luol had an okay night adding 17 points on 7-17 shooting with seven rebounds. ''Nate got ejected yesterday, so he was rested,'' Deng quipped. ''He had a lot of energy for us tonight. That was great.'' Derrick Williams put all his effort to keep Minnesota in the game as he posted a game-high 28 points shooting 61%. Ricky Rubio pushed to rally the Wolves in the third quarter by weaving through defenders and dishing passes through Bulls player's legs for open layups but it proved not to be enough as he scored 15 points making four buckets only eight attempted field goals. ''(Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau) is constantly telling us that we have enough to win on any given night,'' said guard Jimmy Butler. ''As long as we go out and play hard, guard, and play for one another, we can win no matter how many men we're down.'' Chicago made it back-to-back wins on consecutive nights and hope to carry this momentum and mentality for their Wednesday matchup at home against the Miami Heat who extended their current win streak to 26 games.
