NBA -- Bulls squeak past Jazz, 89-88
By Francisco Marron Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 10 Mar 2013

CHICAGO -- Marco Belinelli drilled a 3 in the final 5.9 seconds of play and the Chicago Bulls held on to beat the Utah Jazz, 89-88 Friday night at the United Center.
Without the injured Derrick Rose. Kirk Hinrick, Richard Hamilton and Taj Gibson, Belinelli got the nod to start and made the most out of it. The 6-foot-5 guard netted 22 points in 42 minutes of play, making seven of his 14 field goals, including 3-for-4 from 3-point territory. Belinelli also grabbed four rebounds and dished three assists.
Former Jazz Carlos Boozer also had a big night, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds against a physical Utah team that muscled its way back to the contest with a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter. But the Jazz couldn't punctuate their rally with a win as Gordon Hayward missed a wide open 15-footer as time expired.
Point guard Nate Robinson tallied 14 points and seven assists while all-purpose forward Luol Deng had 12 and six rebounds as the Bulls snapped a two-game losing skid. The Bulls, who improved to 35-27, leave Chicago on Saturday for a three-game swing beginning Sunday in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
Big Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 23 points while Marvin Williams finished with 11. (FM)
