SERVANIA, JACA WIN BY 7TH ROUND TKO?S By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 03 Mar 2013 Undefeated WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight champion Genesis Servania retained his title with a 7th round TKO of tough Indonesian challenger Angky Angkotta while hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex Jaca also scored a 7th round TKO in an action-packed showdown against Thailand?s game Rachamongkol Sor Pleonchit at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino on Saturday. The promising Servania was simply too good for Angkotta who had previously battled Mexican warriors Jorge ?Travieso? Arce and Fernando ?Cochulito? Montiel and tried to make a fight of it occasionally amusing the fans with his showboating. Servania rocked Angkotta in round two with a right uppercut and caught the Indonesian once again with a hard right in the dying seconds of round three. Another classic left uppercut in round five and a rapid-fire one two combination in round six which saw the Indon fighter respond with a shuffle only prolonged the inevitable as Servania smashed his nose and bloodied Angkotta?s face in round seven forcing referee Tony Pesons to call a halt at 2:59 of the round. With the win Servania moved his unblemished record to 20-0 with 7 knockouts while Angkotta dropped to 26-9-1 with 14 knockouts. Jaca won his ninth straight fight in an action-packed brawl with Pleonchit who gamely traded big shots in a battle of hard-hitting southpaws. Jaca nailed Pleonchit with a devastating left hook to the jaw which dropped the Thai fighter before both junior lightweights rocked each other in back-and-forth action that had the crowd cheering wildly in rounds three and four before Jaca connected with another big left hand in round five and an uppercut in round six which saw Pleonchit?s mouthpiece fly out. A huge left uppercut had Pleonchit in deep trouble in round seven before an eight-punch combination that wobbled him badly resulted in referee Edwin Barrientos correctly calling a halt at :53 seconds of the round to prevent the Thai from suffering any further damage. Servania (L) takes aim at Angkotta. Servania (R) celebrates when the referee waives off Angkotta who suffered a broken nose. Jaca (R) connects with an uppercut on Pleonchit.
