Clippers Opens Second Half Of Season Against Spurs By Chad Cañares PhilBoxing.com Mon, 18 Feb 2013 The Los Angels Clippers is set to start the second half of their NBA Season on their home floor on Thursday February 24 against the NBA western conference number 1 team the San Antonio Spurs. The Clippers are coming in from the All Star break with a much needed 6 day rest and will be riding on a four game winning streak to end the first half of the season capped off with a victory over their city rivals Lakers last February 14 drowning them with a 125-101 score. The visiting Spurs of San Antonio will start the second half of their season with a four game road trip first visiting the Kings in Sacramento on the 19th of February before playing the Lob City Squad in LA, the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle in Oakland then off to Phoenix before heading back to San Antonio to again host the Suns. The Clippers are trying to play catch up with the Spurs on the NBA standings as they are just 4 games behind the league leading Spurs and a game and a half behind the OKC Thunder for the second spot in the west. Marquee match-ups will be featured between the Clips-Spurs clash in all positions with two of the leagues top point guards in Chris Paul and Tony Parker will be showcased, the big men in Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin will be matched up by the Spurs bigs in Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter and the rest of the supporting cast of both teams. On paper, both teams are almost identical with the spurs just edging out the Clippers with a .487 to .473 FG%, .729 to .704 FT%, 25.0 to 23.3 assists per game. The Clippers though leads the rebounding department between both teams with 41.93 to 40.87 rebound total per game.
