JEZZE CARRASCO VICTORIOUS OVER THE WEEKEND

Smithy’s promotions boxer Jezze “El Rey” Carrasco claimed the biggest victory of his professional career last Friday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre when he beat Queensland’s no.2 ranked Junior Welterweight Waylon Law in a close split decision.
The well earned victory left trainer Brandon Wood very happy and excited about things to come.
“It was a great win on a big stage for Jezze” said trainer Brandon Wood.
“I’m very pleased with his performance and I am looking forward to seeing him back in action against Trent Wehrman on March 15 in Townsville”.
Another Smithy’s Promotions fighter Cory Hess fell just short in his pro debut in Sydney on Saturday night suffering a narrow split decision loss to well established muay thai fighter Glenn Purvis.
In what has been described as a crowd pleasing fight, the “Little Hitman” Cory Hess trained by Craig Monagle in Toowoomba appeared to have the Sydney boxer hurt a few times before being denied the close decision.
Hess will return to the gym this week before determining his next course of action.
