MANIATIS WINS WBC ASIA PACIFIC PROMOTER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Well known Australian promoter and fairly frequent Manila visitor Peter Maniatis has been awarded the Australasia World Boxing Council Asia Pacific “Promoter of the Year” award for 2012.
Maniatis who is a multi-titled promoter in Victoria was informed about the latest award by Patrick Cusik of the WBC Asia Pacific Committee.
Maniatis won the award for having staged three WBC regional title fights in Melbourne.
The likeable promoter who handles the careers of a few Filipino fighters along with Jimmy Manangquil said “This is a big honor to win the WBC award and I would like to thank Patrick Cusik and the WBC Asia Pacific Committee for the award.”
Their top world title prospect is Pan Asia Boxing Association or PABA light flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin, a talented southpaw who is now ranked No. 4 by the World Boxing Association.
The 21 year old Petalcorin will defend his PABA title at the Pagcor Grand Theater airport casino in Paranaque where he will face promising Rene Patilano who has a record of 7-1-1 with 3 knockouts..
Nicknamed “Razor” Petalcorin has looked sharp and sports an impressive 19-1 record with 14 knockouts.
Aside from Petalcorin , Maniatis and Manangquil handle a 18 year old undefeated lightweight prospect
Harmonito Della Torre who is 6-0 4kos.
