NBA -- Bulls easily handle streaking Warriors
By Francisco Marron Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 27 Jan 2013

CHICAGO -- Point guard Kirk Hinrich registered a season-high 25 points while four of his teammates notched double figures in scoring as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Golden State Warriors, 103-87, Friday night at the United Center.
The Bulls hit the ground running and unleashed 31 first quarter points to lead by 18. They never looked back from there.
The Bulls engineered a balanced attack that saw Nate Robinson come off the bench for 22 while Jimmy Butler tallied 16 and 12 rebounds. Center Joakim, who recently got his first All-Star nod, played with typical flair, 14 points and 16 rebounds while power forward Carlos Boozer checked in with another routine double-double, 15 and 13 rebounds.
At 26-16, the Bulls maintained their half-game Central Division lead over the 26-17 Indiana Pacers
"We got outworked. We didn't have the right mindset to start the game and it snowballed from there. That wasn't Warriors basketball," Golden State head coach Mark Jackson told NBA.com. The Warriors entered Chicago with three wins in a row, including an impressive back-to-back romp over the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But Golden State only shot 34,6 percent from field, 27 of 78. Newly named All-Star David Lee paced the Warriors with 23 points while Stephen Curry added 21. Klay Thompson struggled, missing nine of 13 shots to finish with 13.
The Warriors dropped to 26-16 and now trail the 32-12 Los Angeles Clippers for the top spot in the West Conference;s Pacific Division. (FM)
