NBA - Nuggets rally late, beat Warriors By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Tue, 15 Jan 2013 SAN FRANCISCO -- Down eight entering the fourth quarter, the Denver Nuggets dumped 37 points in the final 12 minutes to breeze past the Golden State Warriors, 116-105, Sunday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Forward Danilo Gallinari notched 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists to help the Nuggets chalk their 14th win in 16 home games. Point guard Ty Lawson finished with 20 and five assists while Andre Miller, Wilson Chandler and Corey Brewer combined for 39 points. Behind Stephen Curry's 20 first half points, the Warriors dictated the pace and led 87-79 after three quarters of play. But when the Nuggets opened the final period with an 11-2 run to retake the lead, the Warriors folded. "We didn't take care of the basketball at the start of the fourth quarter. We gave them life by being careless with the basketball. This is a team that feeds off of that. They got it going in transition and they hurt us. Two of our own backcourt guys have ten turnovers together. You're not going to survive that," a frustrated Golden State head coach Mark Jackson spoke to NBA.com about his team's 18 turnovers which aided the Warriors' demise. Curry finished with 29 while David Lee had 23. Harrison Barnes added 21 and six rebounds. The Nuggets surged to 23-16 in the overall standings while the Warriors, who lost four of their last five assignments, dropped to 23-13.
