NBA -- Melo drops 40, Knicks beat Magic in Orlando
By Reynaldo Seno PhilBoxing.com Mon, 07 Jan 2013

NEW YORK -- If you open the NBA dictionary and look for the word "unstoppable," you'd probably find a photo of Carmelo Anthony next to it.
Because that's exactly what the Knicks shooting sensation has been lately -- unstoppable.
Anthony torched Orlando for 40 points Saturday night, hitting 14-of-29 field goals as the Knicks rallied to beat the Magic, 114-106, at the Amway Center in Orlando. J.R. Smith added 18 while Tyson Chander scored 14 and pulled down 12 rebounds to help New York rally from a 25-13 first quarter deficit.
"Anthony is probably the best scorer in the world right now. If I knew something to do, I'd have done it. So would every other person in the NBA," Josh McRoberts, one of the Magic players who had the misfortune of guarding Melo, told NBA.com
Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson had 29 apiece for the Maic. But it wasn't enough to offset Anthony's barrage.
At 23-10, the Knicks now have a stranglehold of the Atlantic Division. New York is just a full game behind the 22-9 Miami Heat for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
The Magic dropped to 12-21 and decidedly out of the playoffs picture. (RYS)
