BOBCATS TAME BULLS, 91-81 By Alex Gardunio PhilBoxing.com Wed, 02 Jan 2013 The Charlotte Bobcats held on to their lead to post their eight win of the season, beating Chicago, 91-81. The win helps surpass last year?s total of seven wins. Kemba Walker led the Bobcats with 18 points and eight rebounds as Gerald Henderson added 16 points of his own. Ramon Sessions and Ben Gordon came off the bench in support to add 15 points each. ?We?re a desperate team right now,? Henderson said. ?This losing streak has been very tough on us.? It had been over a month since Charlotte?s last win as they held off several rallies from Chicago who never led in the game. Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap decided to throw everything out of the window in the fourth and sit back and let his players do their own thing. ?I put the playbook in the freezer and just let our guys go at them,? he said. Well, it paid off as Charlotte posted a 10-0 run to start the fourth quarter. The boos came quickly in the quarter from the Chicago?s fans as they endure the inconsistency game in and game out. The Bulls shot just 35.1 percent for the game and an abysmal 23.1 percent in the fourth. ?''You can deal with the shots. Some nights you're going to shoot better than others.'' Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. On top of the inconsistent shooting, they were only four of 13 from the three point line. Outside of the terrible shooting on the night Thibodeau was very displeased with Chicago?s defense and rebounding. Luol Deng led all scorers on the night with 20 points on 9-19 shooting and pulling down 12 rebounds while Carlos Boozer also posted a double-double adding 19 points and leading all rebounders with 14 boards. The Bulls showed signs of life towards the end of the third by eventually tying the game after being down 12 thanks to a second chance jumper from Richard Hamilton with less than a minute to go. Charlotte had shot over 50 percent in the first half but were only six of 15 from the charity stripe which kept Chicago in the game. So, the Bulls tried intentionally sending the Bobcats to the line trying to pull something together and stop the bleeding. To no avail they could not pull close enough to seal the gap as Charlotte finished off the game 21 of 38 from the free throw line. Not a great percentage, but just enough to keep Chicago at bay and finish the game without surrendering the lead. The Bulls have lost three of four and look to get things rolling Wednesday night as they head to Orlando to take on the Magic (12-19). Chicago looks to make it 5 straight wins against the injury plagued Magic who are coming off a recent skid dropping their last six.
