OPBF super bantamweight MarJohn Yap (18-8, 10 KO’s) who is ranked No. 14 by the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation has won a unanimous eight round decision over Japanese prospect Akihiro Matsumoto (10-4-1, 5 KO’s) while Jonathan Baat also won an eight round decision over his Chinese opponent in Kanazawa, Japan.
ALA Promotions reported that Yap used his quick hands behind a stinging jab and left-right combinations to beat Matsumoto by scores of 78-75, 78-74 and 79-74.
Southpaw Baat who now fights out of Kanazawa improved to 21-4-3 with 10 knockouts following his win over Qiu Xiang Jun (4-1, 1 KO).
