China?s top lady pro Siming Chen who was last year?s world No.1 has volunteered to take time out from her quest for a first World Championship title in the Yalin?s World 10-Ball Championships at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and will be joined by one of the Philippines sporting heroes Efren ?Bata? Reyes in a charity event to raise funds for ABS-CBN Foundation?s Sagip Kapamilya. Dragon Promotions will team up with the giant broadcast network in an event where OB Cues is donation a P20,000 cue with raffle tickets being sold for P200 each and with the winners getting the cue and a chance to play on a team side by side with Chen and Reyes with the match to be telecast on Studio 23. ABS-CBN vice president for Sports Peter Musngi said "It's heartwarming to see such great effort and support from foreign players and companies to want to help our people. It's inspiring to see billiards in China and Philippines as a unifying force and just be human beings helping their fellow men.| Eric Ding, president of Yalin tables who are the main sponsors of the World Championship forb his part stressed "It is our duty and privilege to help this great country. Philippines has been a honorable and hospitable host to our event and supportive of our Chinese professional players. The Filipino people are a kind, good people and anything we can do to help we will Siming Chen who won the Philippine Open last year, for her part said "I love coming to the Philippines to play. The fans are so good to us. I feel terrible such tragedy has happened here. Of course I will take time out to help the charity if my skills can help any at all."
