CASIMERO IS “PERFECT”
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 31 Jul 2012

Well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani exuded confidence that his fighter, IBF light flyweight champion Johnriel Casimero is “perfect with no problems” as they prepared to leave for Mexico via Los Angeles on Monday night.
Casimero who won the interim title after scoring a 10th round TKO over Luis Lazarte in Argentina in a fight marred by an ugly post-fight attack on the Filipino contingent was elevated to champion when Ulises Solis indicated he would be unable to undertake a mandatory title defense by the October deadline due to injury.
Gello-ani told the Manila Standard that Casimero has looked good in sparring and is “ready to defend his title” following a couple of postponements of his title defense when he faces undefeated Mexican Pedro Guevara in Sinaloa, Mexico on August 4.
Guevara’s 18-0-1, 13 knockouts record doesn’t bother Casimero or Gello-ani who was confident Casimero will prove his worth in the ring.
Gello-ani noted that Guevara had won against “no name fighters” and he is confident the champion “can hold onto the title because of his experience fighting abroad” even in hostile territory.
Casimero’s promoter said he is “happy that at last the title defense has been realized” and that Casimero was excited over the fact tghat his first title defense will be telecast by AKTV IBC 13 or ABC 5.
