WARLITO "KATSUMATA" PARRENAS WINS BY KO6 IN TOKYO
By Chito Yu Katangkatang PhilBoxing.com Wed, 28 Mar 2012
Japan Based Filipino Flyweight prospect Warlito "Wars Katsumata" Parrenas outclassed Japanese foe Tomoya Kaneshiro and ended the night with a booming round six knockout courtesy of a left and right flurry combination with a right hook finale. Parrenas who is a native of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental improves his record to W17 (KO15) L5 D0.
The fight was held at the Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan last Sunday, March 25 as part of the Fil-Japanese Boxing Festival. Parrenas started strong but the tough Japanese never went down and took the fight toe to toe. It was obvious in the third round that both fighters went at a slower pace due to the all out brawl draining their gases. Later in round six, Parrenas staggered Kaneshiro with a right hook which the Filipino warrior took as a sign of the night's end. The brave Negrense followed his killer instinct and pummeled his foe with a mad combination of hooks to the head sending him to the canvass for good.
The venue was filled with Filipino fans working in Japan and everyone were celebrating the country's victory as represented by Parrenas. Also victorious was Super Bantamweight Filipino pug Jonathan Ba-at, a native of Davao City who won via unanimous decision against Osaka, Japan's Yuta Uetani. Ba-at climbs the rankings with a new record of W20 (KO10) L3 D3.
