WBC PRESIDENT SULAIMAN PREDICTS MORALES-GARCIA WILL BE A VERY GOOD FIGHT
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 23 Mar 2012

World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman predicts that the WBC super lightweight title defense of veteran Erik "El Terrible" Morales against young upstart Danny Garcia will be "a very good fight."
However, in an interview with the Manila Standard, Sulaiman said he couldn't understand why the promoter picked Garcia who is comparatively unknown instead of a name fighter.
He said the age difference between the 24 year old challenger who is undefeated with a record of 22-0 with 14 knockouts and Morales who is 35 and best remembered for two epic trilogies - one against bitter rival Marco Antonio Barrera and the other against reigning pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao - could make the difference.
Garcia himself thinks so but Morales isn't about ready to concede. He said ?I?m very well prepared, very well trained, and ready to fight this difficult fight against a very young man who?s hungry and who dreams of ripping my title away and sending me into retirement.?
The likeable Morales added, ?I?ve always been a fighter who accepts the biggest and best challenges. I don?t win much from this, just knowing that I?m alive and ready to keep going for bigger fights.?
Looking at the future the multi-titled Morales said ?There are some fights that I want to do, but before I do those I want to make sure I?m 100% ready to go. And these types of fights will let me know if I?m ready.?
The Morales-Garcia fight and the main bouts on the undercard from the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas will be telecast on the popular weekly boxing show "Big Time Bakbakan" at 12:00 noon on Sunday over AKTV IBC 13.
