DONAIRE'S MOM CLARIFIES SON'S MISLEADING STATEMENTS; SAYS SON MISGUIDED By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Wed, 12 Jan 2011  Duljoville via Charleston, SC ? Reading Tris Dixon?s story about ?The Sadness Behind the Smile?, I called my friend Glenn Donaire (brother of Nonito Donaire Jr.) if he did read the article. Glenn said no! "I didn?t but my family already read it." "Enough is enough," Nanay Donaire (Mom Donaire) says, wanting to come out of silence, not to distract her son?s training but to clarify everything and to inform in print and to let the world champion son to know that she is listening and will spank him if he keeps on lying. Again I?m not here to fan the flames, but to relay a message by a very concerned Mama. The Mama said that its about time for her to speak to let her son know that she?s been listening to all the lies thrown around against his dad. And as a mother she will not tolerate the bare-faced lying by her son. Nanay Donaire, who is a 3rd order Augustinian secular and a church choir member, told me that hearing his son not telling the truth makes her sad all the time. So after reading Tris Dixon?s story she said to herself that this needs to be stopped. First, Nanay Donaire said that Nonito?s dad didn?t steal any money, the $240 Nonito Jr. accused his Dad of stealing from him was used to feed the boxing staffs as they went to eat. I say what is $240? Is that enough to accuse your own dad of stealing? Is that enough to cut the relationships? Nanay Donaire was with me, she believes that a $240 is not enough to make his older Donaire look bad. She added that, did Dodong (Nonito Sr.) accuse the son of stealing money when he spent lots of money raising him? Paying his phone bills, rent and other expenses? No the dad never accused his son of anything because he loved his son. As I spoke to Nonito Sr, he recalled also that on Moruti Mthalane fight in Mandalay Bay, he?s supposed to make $30K but after the fight Junjun and Rachel only gave him $20k. "Did I accuse him of stealing? Never, I never did." Donaire Jr tried very hard to make himself look like Manny Pacquiao, like growing up very poor, almost nothing to eat, no food at the table, smallest share in the table. Nanay Donaire said that they were poor but not very poor as his son said. Nanay told me that she was a teacher and Dodong was a soldier, there was always food at the table, maybe not grand but was always enough for everybody. Nanay Donaire was surprised also that Nonito Jr was jealous with Glenn. ?Then my brother started boxing and, growing up, my family have always said, ?Glenn?s good-looking. Glenn?s better than you, Glenn?s this and this. Glenn?s the best.? "Anthony I am very sad to read this one, how can he carry this in his heart? If he thinks that he was overlooked he should have shut his mouth. His brother Glenn even supported him because he was not working, he only boxed. Glenn gave him money, or shared his money, and he didn't care because he is his brother and they have a pact. No he can?t mention those things, we never did that to him." Nanay Donaire recalled when he watched Jr's fight in Manila. The first thing Rachel?s dad did was to gave her the "rules". Rules that said: she cant go near her son anytime she wants, she cant always ask for something from the son, in other words ?she cant do this and cant do that? she cant go in to the ring in case Jun2x wins. She told me that she threw that paper away, she only read a portion of it? Now the time comes, Jun2x won, if my recollection is correct he knocked out Raul Martinez in 4, and GMA TV approached Nanay Donaire and she stood up, and Nonito?s new mommy (Rachel?s mom) reacted right away ? why did you get up? Did you read the rules?? ? Nanay Donaire being polite answered that I can?t make those GMA guys wait for me? Still in Manila, she said that she had a room provided by her son, but that afternoon Rachel told her to just go downstairs and stay with her five other relatives (room is very small though) because her room will be given to Dr. Ed Dela Vega (Doc is more important than the mom? Hhmm)? but she knew that Doc Ed was in another room because they met at the stairs prior? she just learned that the room was given to a bodyguard commissioned by Rachel. Recently, Nanay Donaire was invited by his son to visit him in Japan. Nanay jumped in quickly, first she missed Nonito a lot and thinking that this was maybe the chance to salvage a compromise. She told me that her main purpose was to bring peace and reconciliation. Nanay asked her son, "Why you didn?t call us anymore?" The son said "I totally forgot about you guys, coz I?m happy with my new family." "You know your Dad lost his job and he has some kidney problem, maybe you can help him," Nanay said. The son replied: "If it is God?s will it is God?s will" "Jun your Dad made you a champion, he sacrificed a lot for you, he quit the job and lost his retirement," pointed out Nanay The son, in an arrogant manner, said "That?s his fault he lost his retirement, no mercy and no guilt towards him." "Jun I thought you said that we?ll help each other once you become a champion," the mom inquired? "That was before Mom," the misguided son said. Jun your Dad have note for you? no time to reconcile and no time to read. Rachel also said that Nanay is disruptive because she brought up Nonito Sr. into the topic. But all Nanay wanted was to bring peace and reconciliation. I asked the Dad (he sits beside Nanay btw) if he was very strict ? ?You see, the thing is, he was an old-school kind of guy, you know. So we got into it because he just commands and commands and commands...(Tris Dixon story) "Anthony I was strict on training because I didn't want them to be beaten inside the ring? he saw other kids before crying because their Dad scolded them hard, yelled at them? but you can ask both Glenn and Junjun they never had yell or curse from me that maked them cry when we trained? in fact of all my kids only Glenn tasted a slap from me? when we went to the park before Jun2x was always in my team when we play football because he was tiny and I love him so much. I don?t know why he?s doing this to me. I love all my kids because I lost my Dad when I was 3 years old and I wanted to experience what I did not. So when I read all his lies about it crushes my heart and it hurts his brothers and sister also." "I didn?t force him to box either, he chose to do Karate, he could do the split? but when he saw Glenn win trophies, he told me that he?ll box also. I dragged them on weekends to run, I held both their hands to run in Marina. There was no jealousy at all, we were happy. We had a goal to help each other, we had a pact. Parents both recalled after he knocked out Darchinyan, Ma / Pa you don?t have to work anymore, we?ll buy a new house, we will live together, we gonna be happy. But those promises perished when he got married. He quarreled his Dad and he didn?t help Glenn train against Ulisses Solis. He didn?t show up for sparring. Maybe jealousy already drove his intentions at that time. If Jun2x helped Glenn on that fight, outcome might be different. Do you have favoritism amongst your kids? No, Nonito Sr replied. In fact, Junjun is a little bit favorite because he was sickly among children. Nanay Donaire just hoped that his new family will stand by him all the way, not just for fame. Nanay do you care if Nonito will lost to Montiel on Feb. 19? If that makes him turn around to be humble, I don?t care if Montiel will win. He destroyed his reputation everytime he throw lies against his Dad and to our family. And if Rachel a good wife, he should teach her husband to respect his own parents. But what happened, she tried to pull away Nonito Jr from his own family, Nanay noticed. Donaire siblings don?t want their Mom to talk to the media because they think that it?ll just worsen the problem. But now, after reading Tris Dixon?s long story, they pushed their Mama to talk. The siblings think that their brother needs some spanking, that only Mama can do. And Mama told me that Jun2x might read this and he should stop making lies, especially to his Dad. So as a son also and working here in abroad, the common problems I hear from most couples are sometimes unequal sending of money to both families in the Philippines? sometimes husbands caught funneling more to his parents, brothers or sister? sometimes the wife get caught also? but if we Filipinos think about it, that?s just how we are, we love so much our parents that we tend to small sacrifices (kasaba by the wife) after all you already sent the helping hands to your parents? you will just swallow the wife?s sermons? but Nonito Jr is different after he gets married, he scrutinized his Dad so much that he tend to find faults and those scrutinizing overlooked his Dad?s sacrifices? its ok for him to not contact his own family (brothers, sister, mom) for months. So as a Son again, I cant turn my back to my Dad, Mom and siblings. That?s almost impossible for a good son to do. He should have been great and indeed he is good right now in the ring. But as a person he failed as a son. To his parents he is a loser and as a brother he is selfish. As long as he will fix this, I think he won?t attain the peak. When he visits Philippines next time, he should go to bookstore and read some famous Jose Rizal writings? Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa peak! We try to look Manny, his Dad left them when they were young, and this is documented. He sells cigarettes at the street, slept at the gym, mom washed neighbor?s clothes, etc? but what did Manny did to his Dad? He invited the Dad to watch his fights here in the US, he honored the Dad. Did we here any remorse from Manny? NONE! Do we hear anything from true beautiful Jinky, from Mommy Pac? None! We only see some dancing and some singing from both Mommy Pac and Manny Pac. And Jinky/Manny are very well loved because Filipino fans embrace their idols who love their parents. To close, I will reflect Nanay Donaire wanted to tell her champion son ? humility is number one, and you should maintain this one?. * * * Oh!BeerTime! Tsk tsk tsk Miami heat is doing very good now, they?re jelling well? but as I asked Floridian NBA scholar Christopher Lambo Simpron, he told me that the Heat is winning regular games right now but he doubt if they past through even the Magic, he explained that Miami are too small and only good for a game banging with mediocre Teams, 7 deep grinding games is very different he said? whew! That?s makes me feel good, I don?t like arrogant players? Morales vs Marquez, it maybe looks bad on papers, but I will not count out Morales? champion heart, the pride is very high and they are at stakes? im anticipating a rematch as this will be action filled bout, I will watch this for sure? if Im the President of the Philippines, I will support only these sports, in order: boxing, billiards, bowling and soccer? no height requirements, fighting spirit and focus and money from government, we?re good to go!... forget basketball players whitened their face and theyre very fragile? look Durant if he Belo himself?
