TANAMOR WINS EASILY, FACES TOUGH THAI IN SEMIS
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 14 Dec 2009

Two-time Olympic veteran and World Cup light flyweight champion Harry Tanamor made an impressive start to his gold medal quest in the Southeast Asian Games in Laos by whipping Myanmar’s Htet Aung in his opening bout Sunday afternoon.
Tanamor, using a stiff left jab and left-right combinations effectively set the tone right from the opening bell and raced to a 5-1 lead in the opening round in which Aung was given a standing eight-count in the dying seconds after getting nailed with a hard right by the experienced Filipino.
A combination opened the scoring in the second round and as the Myanmar fighter kept backpedaling Tanamor piled up the points to lead 7-1. Tanamor caught Aung with a three-punch combination before the Myanmar fighter sneaked in a right to make the sc ore 8-2.
Tanamor eased off a little before connecting with two quick punches to add to his tally 9-2 before Aung scored at the bell to make it 9-3 going into the final three minutes.
A left straight by Tanamor and another quick flurry followed by a stinging right straight eased the Filipino comfortably ahead 12-3 before a good right hand by Aung salvaged a point for him with the final score 12-4 in favor of Tanamor.
