Jinkee, Mommy Dionisia: in their presence, Manny is meek as a lamb By Ronald Constantino PhilBoxing.com Wed, 26 Aug 2009 TWO WOMEN – In this whole wide world, there are only two persons boxing champ Manny Pacquiao fears. And they are women closest to his heart. Mommy Dionisia (or is it Do?a now?) and his wife Jinkee Pacquiao. In their presence, Manny, pound-for-pound the greatest fighter in the world, is meek as a lamb. Mommy Dionisia is a joy to listen to – no pretensions at all. She is what she is, ballroom dancer and product endorser. But best of all loving mother. The former Jinkee Jamora is a Spanish mestiza beauty who met and married Manny when she was barely 20 years old, then working as a beauty-product consultant in General Santos City. He was an aspiring boxer who fell in love, head over heels, with Jinkee. Di na siya pinakawalan. • ‘BELOFIED’ – Along with colleagues Aster Amoyo and Ricky Calderon, we got the rare chance to talk to Jinkee at the presscon welcoming her as one of the Belo Medical Group endorsers. Jinkee is, indeed, a walking advertisement of Belo, lovely face and smooth and fair complexion and knockout body. After four children, Jinkee remains sexy, thanks to Dra. Victoria (yes, she now uses her baptismal name) Belo. Mrs. Pacquiao confesses that being "Belofied" gives her more confidence in facing the public, in granting interviews and posing for magazine covers. • ‘SELOSO’ – She says that then she used to be selosa. Which is understandable as women are falling all over Manny’s feet. But now, she jokes, it’s Manny who’s becoming seloso. What does Manny say to that? The boxing champ says he is really seloso… from way back. "Kasi naman mahal na mahal ko ang asawa ko. Jealousy is a sign of love." • TV-MOVIE NEXT? – Mommy Dionisia is now a TV-movie actress, cast in the Manny Pacquiao-Marian Rivera sitcom ‘Show Me Da Money’ (every Sunday on GMA) and the Erap Estrada-Ai Ai de las Alas movie for Star Cinema. Will Jinkee follow in her mother-in-law’s footsteps? Jinkee is open to the idea, especially if Manny’s her leading man. Jinkee debunks rumors that she and Mommy Dionisia are not in good terms. Mommy Dionisia herself denied such rumors, saying that Jinkee is a very good wife and mother and in-law. • QUIET LIFE – If Jinkee had her way, she’d rather lead a quiet life. Enough of boxing and politics. But then she goes where her husband goes. She treasures private moments she spends with the family as they are few and far in between. More often than not, strictly family occasions turn into public events. Well, that’s the price of being married to an international celebrity. To date, Jinkee is "starstruck" when the biggest names in Hollywood watch Manny’s bouts in the US and drop by at the dressing room, asking to be photographed with him.
