Sylvester Lopez Wins WBC Int'l Championship

Sylvester Lopez knocked down South Korean Jong Nam Park three times in the 1st round and dropped him again in the 8th to take possession of the previously vacant WBC International super-flyweight championship last night at the Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig City.
Lopez did a Manny Pacquiao by sending Jong to the canvas thrice in the 1st round and Jong did a Juan Manuel Marquez by getting up each time he gets knocked down. Jong even held his own in the 3rd and 4th rounds and outlanded Lopez who turned passive and tentative. Lopez regained control starting with the 5th round and outscored Jong with shots to the body and head finishing Jong in the 8th to win his first inter-national title.
