"Red Hot" Frankel snipes Bobby Pacquiao in 10

PhilBoxing.com

SF Bay Area, CA -- Do you know the way to San Jose? Denver native Robert "Red Hot" Frankel must have been singing the familiar song at last night's Fight Night at the Tank en route to defeating Bobby "Sniper" Pacquiao in ten thrilling rounds.
The lightweight combatants' varied arsenal delighted fight fans at the HP Pavilion --home of NHL's San Jose Sharks hockey team.

Heeding trainer Buboy Fernandez' instructions early in the fight Bobby started firing jabs and straights keeping the taller Frankel off kilter at times.

In the second round, Pacquiao stunned Frankel with a nifty right-left combo that induced nasal swelling and bleeding.
In the succeeding rounds, Bobby's jabs deserted him and soon fell prey to the pinpoint pounding administered by the wily Denver veteran.

Interestingly, in the 6th round Bobby bloodied Frankel's nose and managed to open a cut in the right eyebrow.

The decision read unanimous for Robert Frankel who improved to 26-9-1.

Bobby Pacquiao dropped to 29-15-3.

"Ginawa po nating lahat pero kulang. Respetuhin natin ang decision (I did all I could, but it wasn't enough. I respect the decision)," a dejected Bobby Pacquiao summarized in the dressing room.

"No excuses. We're back at square one. We would have had this fight had the jab been utilized more," MiKe Koncz intimated. "We have to re-evaluate as to where Bobby goes from here."

It wasn't all gloomy for Buboy Fernandez as his rising star NY/Japan's Chika Nakumura chalked up her 8th straight win by outclassing a game Tiffany Junot of New Orleans.

"Marunong at magaling. Malayo ang mararating ni Miss Nakamura (Technical and savvy. She'll go far),"Buboy enthused with their win.

Notable guests in the audience were Jackie Kallen, Al Bernstein and IBF/IBO flyweight champ Nonito Donaire.
