Nagasaki, Japan – San Antonio snapped a two-game home skid against Stephen Curry and the Warriors, as the Spurs dominated the Sacramento Kings 123 - 110 on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Former Kings De’Aaron Fox and Harisson Barnes led the way against their former team with 28 and 20, respectively. Fox also had 11 assists for the Spurs, who had 38 assisted field goals as a team.
Luke Kornet started at center for Victor Wembanyama, who was rested due to a calf injury. He finished with a very efficient double-double performance of 13 points on a perfect 5-for-5 field goal shooting, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 blocks.
Reigning Rookie-of-the-Year Stephon Castle only had 4 points and 5 assists in under 16 minutes of playing time in the first half. He did not play at the turn due to an apparent hip injury.
Former Spurs DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 27 markers on a very efficient 12-for-15 shooting clip. Domantas Sabonis contributed 17 markers, 13 boards, and 5 dimes for Sacramento. Dennis Schroder and Malik Monk added 22 and 16, respectively, off-the-bench.
The Spurs will next host the Memphis Grizzlies in San Antonio on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Philippine time).
