Ege, Roda Ready to Clash for WBC ASIA 140 Strap in Thailand
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 26 Jan 2024
PATTAYA BEACH, Thailand – Filipino Jose “BerdugoJr." Roda (9-4-2) and unbeaten Ege Arin Konuk (7-0) of Türkiye faced off during today’s official weigh-in ceremony ahead of their title war for the vacant WBC ASIA Continental 140 Pounds belt set for Saturday, January 27, at the new FCC (Fighting Boxing Club) Gym in sunny and fun Pattaya Beach in Thailand.
Notably, the 21-year-old Ege easily and successfully made weight in his first try at the scale.
However, Jose Roda came 1.6 kilos above the division’s limit (63.50 kilos, 140 pounds).
Therefore, as per the WBC rules, the belt is in play only for Ege.
Should Ege wins the clash, he takes home the brand new green and golden strap.
But If the fighter from beautiful Romblon, Philippines wins the fight, the title remains vacant.
Roda is guided by coach Rene Toto, while Ege is handled by Italian promoter 🇮🇹 Alessio Bisutti.
Supervisor for WBC ASIA is Royal Thai Army Major General Damrong Simakajornboon.
Ring officials for the battle include Veteran Boxing Judge Mr. Chainat and university professor Dr. Thawuth Pluemsamran. 👍
The event is promoted by FCC Boxing in association with Highland Boxing Gym ค่ายมวยไทย มวยสากล live on YouTube from the promoter’s Channel.
