1st Barangay Dela Paz chess competition opens Sunday

ANTIPOLO CITY---IT'S all systems go for the 1st Barangay Dela Paz chess competition that unwraps at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 20 at the Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City.
Chess tournament in-charge Pastor Jason Rojo of Castle Chess Academy said the 1-day event is open to all bonafide resident of Barangay Dela Paz, ages 6 years old and above.
"These activities were initiated exclusively for all bonafide Barangay Dela Paz residents for them to acknowledge the skills of their own ka-barangay," Rojo said.
A project of SK Chairperson Elyssa Mae "Sam" A. Rivera and SK council and Kap. Fernan Jeff Naval and Barangay Council.
"This is an excellent opportunity for chess lovers of all ages to showcase their skills, strategic thinking, and competitive spirit in a friendly environment. We welcome everyone to participate and experience the thrill of chess at its best," said SK Chairperson Elyssa Mae "Sam" A. Rivera.
Fide Master Christopher Castellano will make an appearance as the guest speaker in the said chessfest.-Marlon Bernardino-
