Rolly Lambert Fogoum Headlines Against Zhang Zhao Xin in WBA Asia Triple-Header Aug 26 in Dubai

PhilBoxing.com

Boxing continues at a thrilling pace in Dubai, featuring world-ranked fighters in a hot WBA Asia triple-header set for Saturday, August 26, at the luxurious Le Meridian Hotel & Convention Centre in the City of Gold, Dubai, U.A.E.

In the show's main event, Dubai-based IBF world-ranked African Lion Rolly Lambert Fogoum (16-1-1, 12 KO's), from Bafoussam, Cameroon, battles big and strong former world-title challenger Zhang Zhao Xin (10-2-1, 6 KO's) of Chengdu in spicy Sichuan, China, for the vacant WBA ASIA Cruiserweight (90.71 kilos) Title, as well as a place in the world-rankings.

The war is the golden opportunity for the well-trained Middle Kingdom Warrior Zhang Zhao Xing to bounce back into the green winning column after his failed world title attempt against then champion Ryad Merhy (31-2, 26 KO's), one year ago in Brussels.

But the mission against Rolly Lambert Fogoum will not be easy.

Will Zhang be able to conquer victory in his impending war against a complicated, hard-swinging enemy as Fogoum?

Rolly Lambert Fogoum has been scoring win after win, reaching a 14-fight winning streak, while claiming important WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF African, Asian and International straps, while getting ranked as world's #12 by the IBF.

His winning streak, the 34-year-old Fogoum wants to extend. Will he get the job done?

Interestingly as well as unusual, in addition to being a world-ranked cruiserweight boxer, Rolly Lambert Fogoum, is also a published writer and a poet.

His first book, with the beautiful title of Light your Inner Spark for Days of Grace, is a heartfelt collection of inspiring, motivational and educational poems, beautifully written in a rhythmic style.

Lambert's book of poems, available on Amazon.com, celebrates life's glorious beauty despite difficulties and misfortunes, inviting readers to keep on living with faith to achieve of dreams of better days.

For the inspiring, yet tough Rolly Lambert Fogoum, the sky is the limit in his quest for dominance in the 200-pound division.

The collision of Rolly Lambert Fogoum versus Big Zhang Zhao Xing promises to be an exciting action war, with Chinese fans hoping that the taller Zhang (1.90 m), will outbox and out-smart the heavy-handed Fogoum (1.80 m) from a distance.

For many, Rolly Lambert Fogoum is arguably the most dangerous fighter Zhang Zhao Xin has ever battled. How will it be on fight night?

MORE ACTION: WANG LEQUANG CHALLENGES PHOOBADIN OF THAILAND FOR WBA ASIA 140 STRAP

Five action bouts are set to support Fogoum vs Zhang. One of them is the exciting clash of unbeaten young promising fighters, 23-year-old Wang LeQuang (8-0, 5 KO's) of China, challenging tough 19-year-old world-ranked WBA ASIA Super Lightweight Champion Phoobadin Yoohanngoh (18-0, 10 KO's) of Thailand, the Thai warrior, a young man with total power in his blows.

The two undefeated ones will collide hard on that Saturday, August 26, not only for the WBA Asia crown, but for a place in the world rankings.

"Wang vs Phoobadin" showcases two young, strong, glory-hungry, powerful Asian Super Lightweight fighters in a hot, action a war that no boxing fan in Dubai wants to miss.

In fact, it's not only the quality of the young fighters, their speed and skills. It's also the potential for an end before the final bell.

Will the focused, well-trained Wang LeQuang - who just last May scored an exciting round 1 knockout win in Bangkok, Thailand - follow up with another stoppage victory, this time over the world-ranked WBA # 9 Phoobadin, a fighter promoted by Thailand's legendary Laosuwanwat boxing Family?

Or will it be the tough Phoobadin, prepared by his own former fighter dad, the one to damage the hard-swinging Chinese combatant with storms of power and speed?

More than anything else, Phoobadin wants to keep his world-ranking, as well his WBA ASIA diadem, his two calling cards in the thrilling Super Lightweight Division. Fine, but, could he?

WORLD-RANKED TEWA KIRAM OF THAILAND DEFENDS AGAINST CHINA'S BAISHANBO

In another WBA Asia title fight, Thailand's world-ranked WBA #15 Tewa Kiram (49-1, 34 KO's), defends his WBA ASIA Super Welterweight (69.85 kilos) Strap, against the fists of battle-tested Kazakh warrior Baishanbo (17-5-1, 7 KO's) from China's northwestern Xinjiang region.

It's an absolutely good match-up, a tough mission for both fighters.

However, with all honestly, Tewa Kiram did not look that great in his last fight, decisioning unheralded Afghanistan fighter Mohammed Zekria Zamani.

Zamani was seen as an unheard off boxer who Kiram should have easily stopped. That was not the case. The far more experienced Kiram had trouble, looking boring and uninspiring. Tewa Kiram should have shined in that clash in his own backyard against the Afghan fighter, but did not.

What should fans make up of that? If was a far cry from the Tewa Kiram who was interesting in his clash against Lucas Matthysse five years ago. Even losing against Lucas, Tewa Kiram, during the first part of the fight, was able to showcase his boxing skills. Not the same Tewa Kiram?

In contrast, Baishanboo, even losing by points in his last two fights in Dubai and Tokyo, has looked in good form, going toe-to-toe against his opponent, going all the way, just losing by a small margin.

Indeed, in those two rumbles Baishanbo went fearless at his foes, coming forward at them, dishing out meaningful attacks, going the distance throwing bombs.

Baishanbo's defeats were close, hard-fought wars, in fact, in those fights there was a judge who saw it as a draw, and that says a lot. Baishanbo was not run over at all.

He did in fact looked in shape, as well as focused, strong with air and stamina.

Will it be tough Baishanboo from the Middle Kingdom the one to stop the 31-year-old Tewa Kiram, taking his Asian belt and his place in the WBA world ranking?

HEAVYWEIGHTS: PAKISTAN'S UNBEATEN DIAMOND BOY" TAIMOOR KHAN FIGHTS CHANDRU G OF INDIA

Could a hot clash between young and unbeaten super heavy-handed heavyweight "knockout artists" from Pakistan and India not be exciting?

In fact, what boxing match between fighters of Pakistan and India not be thrilling?

This one is Taimoor Khan vs Big unbeaten Chandru.

Fresh from a recent stoppage win in Bangkok, Thailand, "The Diamond Boy" Taimoor Khan (9-0, 8 KO's), engages in battle versus the 26-year-old Chandru G (6-0, 5 KO's).

Could this end by way of KO? Absolutely. Could it be exciting? No doubt.

If you are not in Dubai, would you watch online for free? You bet.

BANTAMWEIGHTS: FILIPINO HERLAN GOMEZ VS VIKASH HAIYA OF INDIA

An exciting Filipino fighter could be left out from an international show like this one in Dubai?

Heck no.

Filling the role is Filipino Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) champion Herlan Gomez (9-1, 6 KO's) of Bacolod City in the Philippines, climbs the ring at the luxurious Le Meridian Hotel & Convention Center for a collision against Indian warrior Vikash Haiya (6-2-1, 4 KO's).

Their war is an 8-chapter, non-title rumble in the always hot bantamweight division.

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHTS: SHUNJONYU OF CAMEROON VS MOSTAFA OF EGYPT MIGHT NOT MAKE THE DISTANCE

In the first bout of the 6-fight show, unbeaten, hard-swinging, 25-year-old Gwel Jefter Shunjonyu (2-0, 2 KO's) of Yaounde, Cameroon, fights Egypt's 168-pounder southpaw Mostafa Elhosari (3-4, 2 KO's) in a non-title, four-round action battle.

The stage is set, hot and ready!

Magical Dubai, one of the world's most thrilling destinations, is now not only a hub for tourism, gastronomy and shopping, but fast becoming a hub for combat sports, especially boxing.

That is another reason why this August 26 show featuring action warriors from The Philippines, China, Cameroon, Egypt, India and Thailand cannot be missed!!

Promoters for the international boxing event are Dubai's Star Color Promotions in association with China star promoter Liu Gang, Filipino Brico Santig of Highland Boxing, Alessio "Alex" Bisuti of Dubai's Vic Boxing, and Euang "Terry" Laosuwanwat of The Fighter Thailand.

May the Best Men Win!
