By stroke of fate, when the venerable ALA Gym of Cebu closed shop during the height of the pandemic in 2020, many of the ALA boxers were out of base and Matsuura's Zip, in collaboration with Sanman's JC Manaquil, absorbed many them. Matsuura so far has produced one world champion in Melvin Jerusalem. "Many more to come," Matsuura later quipped to PhilBoxing. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Dong Secuya. |
