Paras wants to KO Paradero

ORTHODOX Vince “J-Vince” Paras of General Santos City will definitely go for a knockout against Robert “Inggo” Paradero of Bukidnon in their non-title fight on April 26 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.
“I’m still 118 pounds yet,” said the 23-year-old Paras, who is fighting for 110-111 pounds.
Paras, who is now managed by Sanman Boxing Promotions, said that he learned a lot from his fights against Hiroto Kyoguchi of Japan and Jonathan Taconing of Paranaque City in 2018 when he was only 19 years old.
Paras lost by a unanimous decision to Kyoguchi for the International Boxing Federation World minimum weight title last May 20 in Japan.
He then suffered another setback against Taconing for the World Boxing Council International light flyweight title last September 22 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
“I’ve matured as a fighter since. I am happy with Sanman boxing, my new team, especially for making the fight with Robert Paradero,” said Paras.
“I respect him but on April 26, Paradero and the world will see I’m on a different level. I am 100% ready, expect a KO,” said Paras.
Paras recovered from the two losses with three victories, two both from Reymark "Machine Gun” Taday of Cotabato. He first stopped Taday in the 5th round last April 30, 2019 in General Santos City.
Paras then scored a technical knockout against Vincent Bautista of Bohol in the 2nd round last September 20 in Mandaluyong.
Paras had no fights in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.
Early this year, Paras had a rematch with Taday, who was retired due to an accidental headbutt in the 3rd round last February 5 at Sanman Gym in Gensan.
