PhilBoxing.com

LAGAWE, Ifugao -- Martin and Lumoly make weight. Both, Filipino "Wonder Boy" Carl Jammes Martin as well as George Lumoly of Jakarta, Indonesia, tipped the scales at 117 pounds ahead of their hot 12-round rumble for the vacant WBA Asia Bantamweight Title Thursday afternoon (June 21) at Don Bosco Gym here in the Town of Legawe in the Philippines' northern province of Ifugao, a land gifted with its millennial Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The quiet, yet lethal 19-year-old Martin comes from victimizing Tanzanian Hashimu Zuberi (14-3, 4 KO's) in a two-stanza TKO victory last April here in Lagawe, Ifugao; while the Indonesian Lumoly, 26, is fresh from a round 3 knockout win over his compatriot Dion Rote a few weeks ago in the Indonesia's capital, Jakarta.

Boxing fans here in this beautiful mountainous province celebrating its yearly fiesta can't wait for tomorrow's rumble, especially this one in which their local boxer Carl Jammes Martin with tons of adoring fans sees action in the event's main attraction. Fans here just root for Martin's win for a more "Happy Gotad Ad Ifugao!"

CO-MAIN EVENT FOR LUZPROBA TITLE

In the exciting co-main feature, 17 year-old warrior John Jashim Magagmoc of the local Ifugao Boxing Gym, and fellow undefeated fighter Enrique Magsalin, 23, of the Alliance Boxing Stable in Metro Manila, both made 112 pounds today during the official weigh-in ceremony.

ACTION-PACKED UNDERCARDS

In super flyweights, unbeaten 16 year-old local Ifugao fighter Roy Nagulman made 113 lbs., for 112 lbs recorded by dangerous southpaw Ruben Cadpa, 19, of Quezon City in Metro Manila. The 6-rounder clash is expected to be an intense fireworks show.

Also, Joshua Philip Tuguinay scaled-in at 109 lbs., while Simeon Chulipoh came-in heavy at 114 lbs. Nevertheless, their 4-round battle is a go.

In another entertaining blow-by-blow war, Evander Dogwe of Ifugao, as well as Zamboangueño Joseph Bayubay both came-in at an identical 109 lbs., for their own 4-stanza duel.

Moreover, Jessie Roger Tuguinay of Ifugao, weighing-in 104 lbs will collided against rough warrior Francisco Morales who also made 104 pounds. The two fighters can't wait to climb the Don Bosco Gym.

In the first bout of the hot fighting afternoon, boxing newcomer Eufemio Gamangan, making 109 lbs., will square off fellow rookie Carlo Miguel of Batangas, who stepped-on at 108 lbs

"Battle of the Fist" is a production of Armed Forces of the Philippines Retired Army General Ramon C. Yogyog. Matchmaker Art Monis of Hardstone Boxing.
