SULTAN SPENDS LAST DAY BEFORE FIGHT WEEK JUST RELAXING By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Mon, 21 May 2018 The huge all Filipino IBF title fight involving Jerwin Ancajas and Jonas Sultan enters the so-called ?fight week? starting tomorrow Monday, May 21st. Team Sultan will be driving to Fresno tomorrow after they do their final training day at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood and break camp. Team Ancajas is expected to do the same. ?We will just take it easy driving to the place,? trainer Edito Villamor said. "We are not in a hurry to get there and we have the whole afternoon to do that. Besides this is our first trip to Fresno so we will soak in the scenery as we drive." Today, Sunday the Team spent the day at their temporary home in Los Angeles just relaxing and playing games on their phones. Sultan spent most of his time playing his favorite tunes on his guitar. In a way, Team Sultan was lucky in the sense that as the challenger, there are not too many people hanging out where he is. In fact, it?s just the Villamor brothers and Donnie Nietes who were keeping Sultan company. There are no media people and hangers on that jockey for attention reminiscent of the good old days of Manny Pacquiao. ?We are happy and privileged to have a quiet place to stay and relax,? Villamor replied when asked about the serene atmosphere in their residence. ?The quiet adds to the ability of everyone to keep focus to the task ahead,? he added. But alas, it was not meant to be totally quiet today. People from ESPN5 came to visit. In a way that is great and we commend the folks from ESPN5 for going out of their way just to visit. But from what we heard they were not just there to visit and chit-chat. They were there to do some interviews and take some footage for their outfit. ?We came so we can shoot footage to balance our reporting. Sultan deserves some footage too,? said Renz Ongkiko of ESPN5. Jhay Otamias who also informed me that he went with them for the same purpose, arranged the visit and drove the ESPN crew to Sultan?s residence. ?We need to have some photos of Sultan for philboxing, so I offered to drive the ESPN 5 crew,? he said.
