Mugicha and Manufoe pose with the WBA officials during the weigh-in ceremoney at GAB offices today.

MAKATI CITY, Philippines -- Both fighters, Japanese Mugicha Nakagawa of Tokyo and opponent Ricky Manufoe of Surakarta, Indonesia, made 122 lbs (55.33 Kgs) ahead of their collision for the vacant WBA Asia East Super Bantamweight Title.

The 10-rounder clash will take center stage tomorrow Saturday (May 19) at Elorde Sports Complex in Para?aque, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The Indonesian Manufoe came-in at 123 lbs in his first try, one pound above the super bantam weigh class limit. He then went out for a one-hour run under the rather strong Manila noon-time sun, came back sweating, stood on the scales, and the committed fighter marked exactly 122 lbs., and we have a fight.

During the WBA rules meeting, it got confirmed that the 3-knock down rule is indeed in effect, and also that there is no standing 8-second count.

The Indonesian will fight from the Blue corner while the Japanese will come out from the red; and the approved 8 oz gloves are Twin brand gloves manufactured in Thailand.

The officials for this WBA Asia East sanctioned fight are: referee Silvestre Abainza, and ringside judges Gregorio Ortega, Gil Robiego Co and Jerrold Tomeldan, all from the Philippines. The fight supervisor is Antonio M. Comia of the Philippine's Games and Amusement Board (GAB).

TWO 12-ROUNDER FOR FILIPINO BELTS

In the co-main event, hard-hitting Filipino Allan Vallespin of Siquijor weighed-in at 130 lbs as rival Warren Mambuanag of Agusan del Norte in Mindanao marked 134 lbs (60.8 Kgs) for their 12 round battle.

The Vallespin vs Mambuanag rumble is a rematch as the two men already fought, thrilling fans, Vallespin getting the nod.

Their first battle was an exciting action-packed 12-rounder at MOA back in December of 2016, and fans want more of that.

No problem. Saturday night fans will get Vallespin vs Mambuanag Vol 2.

In another intriguing match-up, southpaw warrior Eranio Semillano from Zamboanga Sibugay and Wilbert Berondo both recorded 115 lbs (52.2 Kgs) ahead of their rumble for the GAB Super Flyweight Belt, Eranio Semillano (15-8-3, 5 KO's) being the defending Filipino GAB champion.

EXCITING ACTION-PACKED PRELIMINARY BOUTS

Three more action combats will complete the exciting evening of boxing.

In super flys, Romshane Sarguilla made 114 lbs while tough Powell Bababa marked 115 lbs for the 6-rounder battle.

Aljun Pelesio and Rico Yagno both weighed-in at 115 lbs for their 6-stanzas clash in the super flyweight division.

In the first fight of the evening, Greg Navarro recorded 109 lbs for 110 lbs of his fighting partner John Mark Vecino. The contracted weight was 109 lbs for their 4-round rumble

Saturday's boxing card in Para?aque, Metro Manila is a production of Elorde International Promotions, the boxing promotion company of popular man of boxing Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde Jr., winner of this year's WBC Honorary Asian Promoter of the Year Award.
