JULATON?S PRO DEBUT IS FINALLY ON! By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Wed, 31 Oct 2007 LOS ANGELES -- Word has just been sent informing us that the long delayed pro debut of Ana Julaton, the charming young woman-boxer from Northern California will finally occur on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Morongo Casino Resort. Morongo Casino Resort which is located at Cabazon, California is less than a hundred miles from downtown Los Angeles. It is a very popular entertainment venue for many Southern Californians, particularly Filipinos from the greater Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties. Julaton?s pro debut was supposed to happen as an under card of the Pacquiao-Barrera II at the Mandalay Bay Casino Resort in Las Vegas. However, her opponent was not able to make the weight agreed upon. With more than 5 pounds separating Julaton from her opponent, Team Julaton, headed by famed world class trainer Freddie Roach and Angelo Reyes decided to forego the event and fight another day. That day is finally here! Julaton will meet Hondi Hernandez, a fighter with much more pro experiences than her. She holds a 5-1-0 (3KO) record. The fight is an under card of the Kassim Ouma-Saul Roman super welterweight tiff promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and televised on Sole Boxeo. Although Julaton appears to be the underdog in this match owing to the fact that this is her pro debut, her team remained unfazed. ?I have full confidence in her?, her manager Reyes said. ? With her extensive background as an amateur plus the training she got from Freddie Roach, Ana will be capable of mixing it up with Hernandez?, he added. Julaton has been training at the Wildcard Gym in preparation for her pro debut. Given her training and her intense desire to succeed, nothing is going hold back the young lady from scoring her first pro victory.
