Raymond Poon, Yuya Nakamura Score Knock Out Wins in Bangkok

PhilBoxing.com

Raymond Poon of Hong Kong lands a powerful left on Thai boxer Danai Wasan August 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hong Kong Jr. Flyweight Raymond Poon (L) used the available combat time to literally brutalize Thai warrior Danai Wasan, rocking him with violent hands from the get-go, striking the Thai with crushing hooks and straight rights that forced the battered Wasan down and out for the count of 10 and more, as the Thai went unconscious flat on his back on the canvas of Ram 100 Stadium Sunday (Aug 27) in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

Thankfully, the Thai boxer Wasan regained consciousness, though the rough sleeping indicates that the 21-year-old Hong Konger Raymond Poon can strike with powerful viciousness.

The clash was Raymond's first pro match outside of his native Hong Kong, and next he scheduled to see more action in his own homeland during Hong Kong's October 10 card featuring his unbeaten world-ranked super flyweight compatriot Rex Tso squaring off veteran Japanese former world titlist Kohei Kono.

Thai boxer Danai Wasan unconcious after being knocked out by Raymond Poon Sunday in Bangkok.

In the co-main event Sunday in Bangkok, Japanese bantamweight Yuya Nakamura destroyed veteran Oscar Raknafa, 26, of Tangerang, Indonesia, to claim the shining blue ABF (Asian Boxing Federation) Bantamweight belt.

The tough outcome unfolded during the action of round 4 when the taller Nakamura ravaged Raknafa's mid section with a power bomb that completely gassed out the brave Indonesian rocking him down to the canvas in excruciating pain.

The TKO win was a rewarding ring return for Yuya Nakamura who had been away from boxing since Nov 2014; and now the 118-pounder from Osaka wants more.

In other card's results, Super Featherweight Hoi Yong Doo of South Korea knocked out Thailand fighter Attaphon Baenkham in the second stanza, scheduled to four.

Also, in another exciting round two knock out outcome, Japanese 154-pounder Ryoutoku Motoyoma vaporized Phongsathon Sompol of Thailand.

Thai woman boxer Sumanthar Baenkham wins 6-rounder by points Sunday in Bangkok.

THAI WOMEN WARRIORS SAW ACTION AS WELL

Thailand's Jr. Flyweight fight girl Phannaluck Kongsang scored a round 2 TKO win over compatriot Daorueng Akktanang.

And, in a battle of Thai featherweight lady boxers, Sumanthar Baenkham, wearing blue and white, won a 6-round unanimous decision over tough Suwanun Antanai. This was the only fight in the 6-bout card that did not end up by way of KO.

The successful "Battle of Champions" card @ Ram 100 Stadium in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, was a joint promotion of Thai Suppanat Chanram in association with Filipino promoter/matchmaker Brico Santig of MP Highland Boxing.
