SUICO, JACA COLLIDE WITH JAPANESE IN THE 'BATTLE' By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Thu, 16 Aug 2007 OPBF lightweight champion Randy Suico and WBO Asia Pacific superfeatherweight title-holder Jimrex Jaca face separate Japanese prospects in the August 25 'Battle for Supremacy: Philippines versus Japan' at the Mall of Asia in Manila. Suico will have a mandatory defense of his title against Koji Samejima, while Jaca takes on challenger Ryu Miyagi in the other 12-round bout. "This is an explosive card for the fans. This will be a real battle," said promoter Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who is co-presenting the card together with Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions. The undercard will feature Wyndel Janiola against Japanese Hiroyuki Hisataka in a 10-round brawl, while Noriyuki Komatsu goes up against local boy Jun Piasidad. The rest of the bouts pit Marvin Tampos against Danilo Pena; Roel Laguna against Mervin Batolina; Jonathan Baat against Eric Rapada. Also seeing action are Ali Cali versus Richard Donaire; Rodolfo Sumabong versus Ronel De la Pena; and Jayson Siaton versus Alvin Gonzales.
