NBA -- Rolling Thunder zaps Raptors, 119-100 By Mark Josef PhilBoxing.com Tue, 29 Mar 2016 TORONTO - The last time the OKC Thunder won at the Air Canada Centre was approximately two years ago on March 21, 2014. Back then, Kevin Durant hit a clutch 3 over the outstretched hands of Amir Johnson to put the Toronto Raptors away in double overtime. On Monday night, however, the Thunder needed no such game-winner as OKC dispatched Toronto, 1119-100. Kevin Durant scored 34 points and Russell Westbrook added 26 points as the Thunder denied the Raptors from notching what could have been a franchise record of 50 wins in a season. The Oklahoma City Thunder took the Raptors out of their groove early and burst out into a 13-2 lead in the first two minutes of the game and never looked back. When asked about their strong start in the game, Durant responded, "We just try to make a statement from the very beginning, everybody was locked in, and it got us all to a good start it got us going." The Raptors kept the game as close as they could trailing by only 13 in the half. But Thunder put the pedal to the metal and went up as much as 26 points in the second half. The Thunder shot 48% from the field during the game and out rebounded the Raptors 53-40. The dominant win for the Thunder was supposedly payback for the loss the Raptors handed OKC at home earlier this season. Despite several disappointing 4th quarter losses coming off the all star break the Thunder are now riding an 8 game winning streak heading into the final stretch of the regular season. When asked about the adversity they faced after the all star break, Kevin said "We definitely hated that part of the season, it was definitely hard to go thru but instead of folding up and quit, we chose to go out there and keep fight through it. We knew at some point we would start to figure it out."
