NBA -- "Greek Freak" leads Bucks past Bulls By Nick Osen PhilBoxing.com Thu, 14 Jan 2016 MILWAUKEE -- In a wild and entertaining border battle between division rivals on Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the visiting Chicago Bulls, 106-101, in front of 16,687 fans at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Jimmy Butler starred for the Bulls with 30 points on 9-for-21 shooting, but his performance was overshadowed by Milwaukee's budding star, Giannis "The Greek Freak" Antetokounmpo, who poured 29 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to help the Bucks rally from a 91-83 deficit late in the fourth quarter. In a trying season in which they have won just 16 of 40 games so far, Milwaukee shot 46.2 percent from the field (43 of 93) and held the Bulls to just 41.2 percent (35 of 85). The Bucks were badly out-rebounded, 57-40, but they dished more assists, 28-22, and committed just five turnovers against Chicago's woeful 17. Greg Monroe delivered nicely for the Bucks with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker combined for 32 points and 9 boards for Milwaukee, which fell behind early, 17-6, and trailed by as many as 11 points. Nikola Mirotic and Tony Snell each fired 17 points for the Bulls, who have lost three in a row following a six-game winning streak. Derrick Rose, a former league MVP, showed flashed of brilliance before leaving with a sore knee and settling with 9 points. Antetokounmpo ignited the home crowd with a thundering dunk that enabled Milwaukee to seize a 63-58 advantage. Reserve guard Aaron Brooks tied it up for the Bulls at 67 and the contest went back-and-forth until the final horn. With their 9-24 record, the Bucks are 13th place overall in the Eastern Conference and five games behind for a possible playoffs berth. Obviously, the young Bucks have a lot of work left to do. But beating the experienced Bulls is a good place to start. Photo: Giannis Antetokounmpo (R) and Jabati Parker combined for 45 points to help the Bucks rally past the Chicago Bulls, 106-101.
